Module 1
Module 1 talks about the lay of the land. It introduces you to the yarning method, which we'll use throughout the course. It is the grounding point for the information we are going to cover through the rest of the program. |
Remember - knowledge sharing isn't therapy. Look after your well being as your work through this content.
Module 2
Module 2 talks about preparing for the journey. This module looks at the term cultural safety, and how it builds into this program, culturally safe trauma-informed practice. |
|
Module 3
Module 3 is called yarning at the campsite. This module unpacks trauma, which can be quite complicated and is a heavy subject to work through. |
So in this module you’ll have a number of tools to take away, as well as being able to ground yourself through this lesson.
Module 4
Module 4 is called passing down the knowledge. In this module we lean further into learning about trauma, and passing down knowledge around the types of trauma. |
|
We talk about adverse childhood experiences, and attachment theory, and share some important facts with you.
Module 5
We’re at module 5 now, yarning about racial trauma. This module might challenge some of your worldviews, and create a reaction. Check in and listen to your body. Be aware, tune in to your feelings and stay with us here. |
Module 6
Module 6 is called Sharing Knowledge. Psychological trauma is very prevalent in society, we can’t assume who has a trauma story and who doesn’t. |
|
By working in a culturally safe, trauma informed way, it’s a safe way to work for everyone we come in contact with.
Module 7
Module 7 is called Yarning about culture and healing. “What is culture?” is a really big question, and in this module we dig deeper into understanding culture, and how it can protect and support us. |
Module 8
Module 8 is called self care. In this module we look at practicing self care, as the every day actions we take to refill our cup with joy, and to keep ourselves safe and healthy. Self care is critically important, and an ethical imperative. |
